Premier League preview and odds: Chelsea vs Bournemouth

December 5, 2015 17:30pm - Stamford Bridge

Premier League

Chelsea could finally shake off the tag of Premier League relegation contenders on Saturday if they can see off the challenge of league minnows Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea still not out of the woods

Chelsea will be looking to avoid defeat for the third game a row this weekend - a feat they have yet to achieve this term. Having secured a win against Norwich and a draw at Spurs without conceding a goal, it seems that Jose Mourinho’s team are slowly finding their way back to form.

However, as things stand, the Blues are still just five points clear of the relegation places. Even if they can secure a win against Bournemouth, the Londoners could still finish the weekend in the same position in the table.

Bournemouth need a win

Despite securing two points with back-to-back draws against Swansea and Everton, Bournemouth are desperate for a win. Only Aston Villa have recorded less points over the last 10 games than the team from the South Coast, and it has now been eight games since they bagged all three points in a game.

Eddie Howe’s men have put in some good performances and played some entertaining football in their debut top-flight campaign. As a result, they have notched up a decent tally of 17 goals scored. Unfortunately, their cavalier style also leaves them vulnerable at the back. No other team has shipped more goals than the Cherries and they have yet to keep a clean sheet on the road.

Team news

Radamel Falcao and Thibaut Courtois are both in line for a Chelsea return. However, John Terry and Ramires could both miss out.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth continue to cope with the biggest injury list in the league with 11 players missing or doubtful.
