After ending Novak Djokovic`s 30-match winning streak at Grand Slam events in the third round, Sam Querrey now finds himself in his first ever Wimbledon quarter-final. Meanwhile, opponent Milos Raonic will be hoping to match his performance of two years ago when he reached the last four in this event.

Big hitters go head-to-head

Two powerhouses of men`s tennis will meet in the last eight of Wimbledon on Wednesday as American Sam Querrey takes on Canadian Milos Raonic with a semi-final place up for grabs.

Sam Querrey caused one of the shocks of the year when he knocked out reigning champion Novak Djokovic in round three. He followed that up with a composed performance against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut and will now face sixth seed and fellow big hitter Milos Raonic.

Raonic has improved notably since bringing in John McEnroe as an advisor and will be looking to reach his third Grand Slam semi-final. Both players had to come back from two sets down in earlier rounds and another epic encounter could be on the cards.

The American holds a 3-1 record over Raonic - although one of those wins came courtesy of his opponent`s withdrawal. Their only previous meeting on grass came in this event four years ago when Querrey prevailed in four sets against a 21-year-old Raonic.

Betting predictions

Despite beating an out-of-sorts Djokovic, Sam Querrey has not done enough this season to suggest that he is a genuine contender in this event. His opponent on the other hand, has moved his game up to another level in the last month and has won eight of his nine matches on grass, with the only defeat coming against Andy Murray in the final at Queens.

Whatever the outcome, it could take four or five sets to settle this one.
