Arsenal vs AFC Bournemouth - Premier League Preview and Odds

September 09, 2017 15:00pm - Emirates Stadium

Premier League

Arsenal will look to haul themselves up from 16th to a more reasonable position in the Premier League table when they welcome 18th-ranked AFC Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The visitors themselves are still looking for their first points of the season having lost all three of their opening games.

The home side have had a poor start to the season, with the scrappy 4-3 opening day win over Leicester City their only success so far. Subsequent defeats to Stoke City (1-0) and Liverpool (4-0) have left their fans feeling less than optimistic amount the season ahead.

Gunner`s boss Arsene Wenger is not the type to panic and will be looking to get their season back on track with a second home win. The North London side have never been beaten by their opponents, having won three and drawn one of their four previous meetings.

Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth have yet to get off the mark this season and remain stranded in the bottom three above Crystal Palace and West Ham United on goal difference. The South Coast side were perhaps a little unlucky not to earn a point at home to Manchester City in their last game when they were floored by a late goal from Raheem Sterling but overall, they have not performed well so far.

Eddie Howe will now face the difficult task of lifting his side for this tricky trip to London to face a team his side has never beaten. The Cherries have won just won of their last 10 Premier League away matches and that win came against last season`s bottom feeders Sunderland.

Betting odds and tips

Arsenal looked a little shell-shocked after their defeat to Liverpool but they will be looking to get their season back on track here. Bournemouth have not travelled well in 2017 and have a poor record away to the top sides. Some early tension might see the hosts err on the side of caution in the first period and for that reason the Draw/Arsenal Half Time/Full Time bet looks tempting.
