Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United - Premier League Preview and Odds

January 13, 2019 16:30pm - Wembley Stadium

Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur will look to keep their title hopes alive at Wembley on Sunday afternoon when they host a Manchester United still targeting a top-four finish. Anything other than a win would put a dent in both club`s ambitions.

Spurs have rarely been mentioned in the title race conversation, but a record of 16 wins from 21 games has kept them clinging to the coat tails of the Liverpool and Manchester City. A win on Sunday would move them to within six points of the leaders with 16 games still to play.

Remarkably, the Londoners have yet to draw a game this season, but they have been beaten three times in their temporary home (by Liverpool, Manchester City and Wolves).

Meanwhile, Manchester United arrive in London as the league`s form team having won their last four matches in a row. As a result, they have given themselves an outside chance of making the top four. A win on Sunday would move them level with fifth-ranked Arsenal and to within six points of Chelsea.

This game represents the first real test for interim boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer who has overseen four matches against bottom-half including three of the current bottom four teams since taking over.

The Red Devils have not won on any of their last six visits to Spurs, their last win coming when an Alex Ferguson-led team strolled to a 3-1 victory over Harry Redknapp’s men back in 2012

Betting odds and tips

There is not much to separate these two teams on form, but Spurs have the home advantage and have come out on top in the last three head-to-heads on home soil. United have been in good scoring form and should at least get on the scoresheet, but this could be the game that finally bursts Solskjaer`s bubble.

You can back the Home win/Both Teams to Score at 13/5.
