West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool - Premier League preview and odds

April 16, 2017 13:30pm - The Hawthorns

Premier League

Liverpool will bid to regain third spot in the Premier League table when they travel to the Hawthorns to take on a faltering West Bromwich Albion side on Sunday.

Reds still on course for top four finish

Liverpool`s Champions League fate is still in their own hands with thanks to their superior goal difference over closest rivals Manchester United, who are six points behind but have two games in hand.

Jurgen Klopp`s men bagged their first Premier League away win of 2017 when they edged to a 2-1 win at Stoke City last time out. That victory extended their unbeaten run to six games with their last defeat coming at Leicester City back in February,

The Reds have yet to lose a game against any team in the top 11, Leicester City being the highest-placed team to have beaten them this term.

Meanwhile, hosts West Bromwich Albion will be hoping to consolidate their position in eighth place by extending their unbeaten Premier League home record against the Anfield club to five games, having won one and drawn three of their last four.

The Midland side have one just one of their last six matches in the league and have lost their last two in a row, including a home defeat to Southampton last time out.

Team news

The visitors will once again be hampered by injuries with Sadio Mane (knee), Adam Lallana (thigh), Jordan Henderson (foot), Oviemuno Ejaria (ankle sprain) and Danny Ings (meniscus tear) all still out of action.

Betting odds and tips

Liverpool are undefeated in their last 6 matches and have scored at least one goal in each of their last eight matches, while also conceding at least once in each of their last seven matches.

The away team have it all to play to for, with a place in next season Champions League still up for grabs. Meanwhile, the home side can hope for little more than to retain their current position. As result, a highly motivated Liverpool side can be expected to prevail.
