AFC Bournemouth vs Swansea City - Premier League preview and odds

March 18, 2017 17:30 pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

The relegation battle heats up as 14th-ranked AFC Bournemouth host 16th-ranked Swansea City at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

Bournemouth back to winning ways last time out

Last time out, AFC Bournemouth broke an eight-game winless streak with a 3-2 triumph over mid-table rivals West Ham United. That result eased some of the pressure from the shoulder of boss Eddie Howe and halted his teams slide towards the danger zone.

It was the Cherries` first win at home since December and lifted them to 14th place in the table, six point clear of the drop zone. However, with 10 games still left to play, the South Coast side are far from safe and will be keen to get another win under their belt.

Eddie Howe`s men have conceded at least one goal in each of their last nine Premier League encounters and in each of their last six on home soil.

Meanwhile, Swansea City are still just three point above the danger zone and will be looking to break a run of three-straight away defeats. The Welsh club have improved significantly under Paul Clement but a 2-1 defeat to rivals Hull City left last time out has left them precariously placed in the league table.

The Swans have scored at least one goal in each of their last seven Premier League encounters and 79% of their matches have produced over 2.5 goals. What`s more, they have conceded at least one goal in all but one of their away matches including their last 13 in a row. As a result, a high goal count can be expected when they take to the field.

Team news

Tyrone Mings is still suspended and will sit this one out along with the injured trio of Harry Arter (calf), Adam Federici (knee) and Callum Wilson (ACL). Junior Stanislas has a groin strain and remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, Angel Rangel (ankle) and Nathan Dyer (Achilles) will be absent for the visitors, while Martin Olsson (ankle), Sung-Yeung Ki (knee) and Jefferson Montero (hamstring problem) are all doubtful.
