Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs. Arsenal

November 21, 2015 15:00pm - The Hawthorns

Premier League

The team with the second-worst home record in the league face the top away performers on Saturday as West Bromwich Albion welcome Arsenal to the Hawthorns in the Barclays Premier League.

Baggies not happy at home

West Brom are not very good at home. In fact, with just a single win and a draw from six fixtures at the Hawthorns, only Aston Villa have a worse record on home soil than the Baggies - and no team has conceded more goals (12) on their own turf. The only league victory that the Hawthorns’ crowd have witnessed this term is the 1-0 win over struggling Sunderland back in October.

In their last outing, Tony Pulis’ men lost 2-0 away to Manchester United and they now face the team with the best away record in the league.

Arsenal kings of the road

The only blemish on Arsenal’s Premier League away record this season has been the controversial 2-0 reverse to Chelsea back in September. The Gunners have won every other game on the road, scoring 14 goals and conceding just five in the process. With that kind of record, they will be confident of coming away with all three points from their trip to the Midlands this weekend.

In their last game, they were held 1-1 at home by Tottenham in the North London derby. Prior to that, they enjoyed a 3-0 stroll away to Swansea City.

Team news

West Brom could welcome back Chris Brunt from a groin injury but goalkeeper Ben Foster is still some weeks away.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are hoping that Hector Bellerin and alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be available for selection. However, Arsene Wenger is still without, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosciky and Danny Welbeck.

Recent form (League)

West Bromwich Albion: LLWWL

Arsenal: DWWWW

Betting odds and tips

Considering West Brom’s poor home record and Arsenal’s away form, the 11/21 available from Marathon bet for an away win looks like good value.

Olivier Giroud has scored in four of Arsenal’s six away games this term and can be backed at 11/10 to find the net anytime with 888sport.
