Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League Preview and Odds

April 20, 2019 12:30pm - Etihad Stadium (Manchester)

Premier League

After contesting one the greatest Champions League knockout ties of all time, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will face off again on Saturday lunchtime. This time it`s in the Premier League where both still have plenty to play for.

The Sky Blues will need to pick themselves up after being dumped out of Europe`s elite competition in the cruellest of fashions. A last gasp goal from Raheem Sterling sparked wild celebrations as it was enough to send the hosts through to the semi-finals. However, a VAR review showed Sergio Aguero to be in an offside position in the build-up and the goal was ruled out sending Spurs to the last four.

It was a devastating blow for Pep Guardiola`s men whose hopes of a clean sweep of trophies have now been dashed. They will now look to seek revenge and maintain their advantage over Liverpool in the title race.

Meanwhile, Spurs will also be pushing hard for all three points to keep their quest for a top-four finish on track. They currently sit in third place but there are just three points separating them from sixth-ranked Manchester United. The bad news is, they have lost their last four Premier League away games in a row and seven of their last eight away from home in all competitions.

Despite progressing on Wednesday, they still lost on the night and only went through on the away goals rule. This would be the perfect game to pick up their first league win away from home since January and consolidate their top-four status.

Betting odds and tips

The Citizens have won their last seven home games in a row but they will be reeling from the events in midweek. In contrast, Tottenham Hotspur will arrive with a new-found sense of belief after reaching the last four in Europe`s most prestigious competition.

The Londoners will be keen to keep the momentum going as they aim four European glory and they might just have a late say in the title race. As a result, the draw looks fantastic value at 6/1.

You can back the Draw at 6/1.
