Manchester City can maintain the pressure on league leaders Liverpool with a win on Sunday. They face a Huddersfield side rooted to the bottom of the table and reeling from the sacking of popular Coach David Wagner.

Liverpool`s dramatic win over Crystal Palace extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points. Realistically, Manchester City are the only side who can chase them down.

Pep Guardiola`s men will look to make the most of their game in hand and reduce the gap to four points with a win over stricken Huddersfield. The Sky Blues lost two away game in a row (at Chelsea and Leicester City) before their 3-1 win at Southampton at the end of December. This will be their first away trip of 2019.

It will be a baptism of fire for Interim Huddersfield Town boss Mark Hudson who takes charge of the team for the first time since the departure of David Wagner. Hudson made 109 appearances as a defender for the Terriers before taking charge of the club`s U23 side.

The Yorkshire club kick off bottom of the Premier League following a run of nine games without a win in which they picked up just one point. That point came via a 0-0 draw at Cardiff City last time out. On home soil, they have just one win to their name this term, a 1-0 triumph over relegation rivals Fulham.

Betting odds and tips

Huddersfield will hope for a fresh start after the tenure of David Wagner turned stale. Last season, this fixture ended in a narrow 1-2 for City while the reverse game finished 0-0. But any hope that Huddersfield had the measure of Pep`s men was removed when they were beaten 6-1 at the Etihad in August. It is hard to see anything other than an emphatic away win here, but don`t expect much value in the markets.
