Huddersfield Town vs Manchester United - Premier League Preview and Odds

October 21, 2017 15:00pm - John Smiths Stadium

Premier League

After a bright start to the season, which saw them win and draw their first three games, things have started to go drastically wrong for Huddersfield Town. They have now gone six competitive games without a win and must now face second-ranked Manchester United.

Despite their recent woes, the Terriers are still sitting in 12th place in the table, three points above the dreaded bottom three. Following this weekend`s match, they face a difficult trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool, so any points they can pick up during the next fortnight will feel like a bonus.

Manchester United come into this game on the back of their own trip to Anfield, in which they settled for draw, and a midweek Champions League victory away to Benfica. They have now gone 12 games undefeated in all competitions, their last defeat coming against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, and have won an impressive ten of their 12 games since then. Only their rivals from the blues half of Manchester are keeping them off the top of the table.

The Red Devils have kept three clean sheets in the four away gamed they have played and have scored in three of their last four road trips, the game against Liverpool being the only exception. Much of their improvement can be attributed to the acquisition of Romelu Lukaku from Everton. The Belgian international has netted 11 times in 12 games for the Manchester side and always looks a good pick in the goal scorer markets.

Betting odds and tips

United have scored 21 Premier League goals this term with seven of those coming away from home, including four at Swansea. Having also kept three clean sheets on the road, they also look a good bet in the win to nil market. Romelu Lukaku should also be considered as first goal scorer at a price of 11/5.

You can back the win to nil at 20/21, Manchester United to score more than 2.5 goals at 13/8 and Lukaku to net first at 11/5 - all with bet365.
