Arsenal vs Leicester City - Premier League preview and odds

April 26, 2017 19:45pm - Emirates Stadium

Premier League

Arsenal will look to keep their feint hopes of a top four finish alive when they take on reigning league champions Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

Euro qualification still on the agenda for Gunners

With a top four finish looking increasingly unlikely, Arsenal can at least still qualify for Europe (Europa League) by winning the FA Cup. The Gunners defeated Manchester City last weekend to progress to the final of England`s Premier Cup competition where they will face league leaders Chelsea.

Despite, their lowly seventh-place ranking in the league, Arsene Wenger`s men still have a mathematically chance of qualifying for the Champions League and will want to win as many of their remaining games as possible. However, even if they win them all, the Londoners will have to rely on other teams slipping up.

The Emirates side have lost just one of their last 14 matches on home soil and beat Middlesbrough 2-1 away from home on their last league outing.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will look to end a two-game winless streak that has left them just six points above the drop zone with six games left to play. Fortunately for the Foxes they have games in hand on the teams immediately below them in the table.

The 15th-ranked side come in this game on the back of a 2-2 draw away to Crystal Palace. Prior to that, they fell 4-2 at Everton.

Team news

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knock), Shkodran Mustafi (thigh), David Ospina (back), Lucas Perez (thigh) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) are all out of action for the Gunners.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the services of Wes Morgan (cramp), Islam Slimani (groin), Nampalys Mendy (ankle) and Molla Wague (dislocated shoulder).
