Championship preview and odds: Brighton and Hove Albion vs Brentford

February 5, 2016 19:45pm - The American Express Community Stadium

Championship

Brighton seem to have got their season back on track after a recent wobble, but can they continue their Championship revival when 10th-ranked Brentford pay a visit to the South Coast on Friday night?

Brighton back on track

After a dismal run of four defeats in five matches, Brighton bounced back with consecutive wins over Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town to put their season back on track.

The Seagulls were title contenders earlier in the season, but now looked destined to be involved in the battle for play-off places. They currently sit on 50 points - five points adrift of second-ranked Middlesbrough.

The win against Huddersfield was the first in four games for Chris Hughton`s men, and also brought an end to their three-game goalless streak on home soil.

Brentford still promotion outsiders

Brentford know that a decent run of results could put them back in the hunt for the play-offs this season. They were making good progress until a recent run of three straight defeats saw them slip back down the table.

They halted that slide with a four-point haul in their last two games, and now sit in 10th place - seven points shy of the coveted top-six places. Last time out, they were held 1-1 at home by Leeds United - however, they did win their last game away from home at Preston (3-1).

Team news

Brighton have been busy in the transfer window, with several players coming in on loan or permanent deals including Steve Sidwell, Anthony Knockaert, Jiri Skalak and Liam Ridgewell.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Onariase has joined Brentford from West Ham.
