Burnley vs. Everton - Premier League Preview and Odds

March 03, 2018 12:30pm - Turf Moor

Premier League

Burnley may be in seventh place in the Premier League table but they are winless in 12 matches heading into this home clash against ninth-ranked Everton.

The Claret`s last win came in the second week of December. Since then, they have drawn six and lost five of their Premier League matches leaving them eight points adrift of sixth-ranked Arsenal. Defeat on Saturday could see them drop down the table if Leicester City beat AFC Bournemouth later in the day.

During their winless streak, Sean Dyche`s men have scored more than one goal in a game on just one occasion and eight of their last 11 matches have finished with a total of under 2.5 goals. They have not won any of their last five home matches but during that spell they have played Manchester City. Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in that time, with the game against Spurs their only heavy defeat.

Meanwhile, Everton have just one Premier League away win to their name in the last 13 months. That came courtesy of a 1-0 victory at newly-promoted Newcastle back in December. Last time out, they were defeated 1-0 away to Watford and like the home team, would probably settle for a draw here.

The lack of any significant progress under Sam Allardyce has not gone down well with Toffee`s fans although the club has least steered clear of the relegation zone. However, having spent a large amount of money on transfers over the last 18 months (they have the 10th most expensive squad in Europe, ahead of Bayern Munich), the Goodison faithful were perhaps hoping for a little more than just survival. Betting odds and tips

The prospect of this game will not be thrilling any neutrals as both sides will probably be content with a draw. Burnley have not scored more than a single goal at home in their last eight matches and the same applies to Everton on the road. As a result, a low goal count can also be expected. The draw and under 2.5 goals can be placed as separate bets or combined with prices of around 12/5 available.

Back the Draw/Under 2.5 Goal with prices of around 12/5 available.
