Premier League preview and odds: Swansea City vs Crystal Palace

February 6, 2016 15:00pm - Liberty Stadium

Premier League

Battling Swansea City will be hoping to give their Premier League survival quest a boost by overcoming an out-of-sorts Crystal Palace side when the teams meet at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Stoke on the slide

A run of three games unbeaten in which they have amassed seven points out of a possible nine, has lifted Swansea City five points clear of the danger zone. The Welsh club now sit in 16th place and will be looking to continue their revival under new boss Francesco Guidolin.

In their last game, the Swans played out a 1-1 draw away to West Bromwich Albion, and prior to that, they bagged back-to-back wins away to Everton and at home to Watford.

Palace winless in seven

After a strong start to the campaign, which saw Alan Pardew`s men challenging for the European places, Crystal Palace`s season has fallen off a cliff. A run of seven games without a win, including five defeats in the last five games, has left the South Londoners languishing in the bottom half of the table.

Thanks to their good start, the Eagles are still 10 points clear of the Premier League basement and should have enough of a cushion to stay clear of danger. However, if the bad results continue, the manager may find himself under pressure.

Team news

For the home side, Ki Sung-Yeung is the only confirmed absentee.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be without James McArthur, Jason Puncheon, Joe Ledley, Yannick Bolasie and Kwesi Appiah, while Yohan Cabaye, and Dwight Gayle are both doubtful.

Betting odds and tips

Palace have failed to score on their last three road trips and look totally devoid of confidence. In stark contrast, Swansea have a spring in their step and will be favourites to bag all three points this weekend.
