With just one point separating relegation candidates Rayo Vallecano and Las Palmas in La Liga, a win for either side could prove vital in their respective quests for survival.

Rayo looking for a way out of bottom three

After a run of five straight defeats that included a 10-2 drubbing at the hands of Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano bounced back with a decent run of five matches that included just one defeat (W1, D3, L1). However, they still remain stuck in the bottom three on a total of just 20 points.

They come into this game on the back of an impressive 2-2 draw away to Deportivo La Coruna, and prior to that they beat La Ligas other Galician side, Celta de Vigo, 3-0 at home. A win on Saturday against their relegation rivals could finally lift them out of the drop zone.

Las Palmas keen to stay out of danger zone

Las Palmas have yet to win a game on the road this term, having drawn three and lost seven on their travels. However, the Islanders have been decent at home under new boss Quique Setien, and as a result, they have risen to 16th in the table.

In their last match, they beat seventh-ranked Celta de Vigo by two goals to one on home soil. That victory followed back-to-back defeats - at home to Atletico Madrid and away to bottom-ranked Levante.

Team news

Paco Jemez will be without Razvan Rat, David Cobeno, Adri Embarba, Patrick Ebert and Toni.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be without Nabil El Zhar, Vicente Gomez and Javi Castellano - however, Angel Lopez has been included in the squad for the first time this season.
