Everton vs Leicester City - Premier League preview and odds

April 09, 2017 16:00pm - Goodison Park

Premier League

Everton are without a win in two and must now face one of the league`s most in form teams as they take on a Leicester City side who have won their last six games in a row in all competitions.

European hopes fading for Everton

Any hopes that Everton had on qualifying for Europe are slowly fading as the season enters the home straight. Ronald Koeman`s men are just three points adrift of fifth-ranked Arsenal but have played two games more. However, on home soil, Everton have been in imperious form in recent weeks, having won their last six in a row, scoring 22 goals and keeping five clean sheets in the process.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will look to continue their remarkable turnaround in form that coincided with the departure of former boss Claudio Ranieri. The Foxes have won every game they have played since his departure, a run that has eliminated their relegation fears.

During that spell, the East Midlands side have only played one game away from home, a 3-2 win at West Ham United. That was their first away win of the season and they will now look to build on that by winning at one of the league`s toughest away venues.

Team news

Ashley Wiliams (suspended), Aaron Lennon (muscle), Ramiro Funes Mori (knee), Seamus Coleman (broken leg), James McCarthy (hamstring), Yannick Bolasie (knee) and Muhamed Besic (knee) are all out of action for the home side, while Morgan Schneiderlin remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, the visitors have less injury concerns with Nampalys Mendy (ankle) and Molla Wague (shoulder) the only confirmed absentees and Wes Morgan to sole doubt as he continues to recover from a back injury.

Manchester United: DDWDW

Betting odds and tips

Everton have won their last six home matches in row and have scored at least one goal in all but one of their games at Goodison Park.

Leicester City have won their last five Premier League matches in a row but they have only won one of their last 16 on the road (last time out at West Ham United). They have conceded at least one goal in all but one of their away matches.

The Foxes may see this game as the ideal warm up for their upcoming Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid so we may see a change of tactics from Craig Shakespeare. Whatever way it goes, we fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet in this game.
