Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League Preview and Odds

May 12, 2019 15:00pm - Anfield Stadium (Liverpool)

Premier League

Having already surpassed any league campaign in their history, Liverpool could still miss out on the Premier League title when their season draws to a conclusion at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

A win would put them on 97 points, a tally that would have won them the league in any other season. Yet, rivals Manchester City could pip them by a point should they win at Brighton and Hove Albion on the same day.

Jurgen Klopp`s men will be in high spirits after their incredible Champions League comeback against Barcelona on Tuesday night. The Reds fought back from 3-0 down after the first left to win 4-3 on aggregate despite missing star players Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

The Merseyside club are unbeaten in their last 39 home matches in the league and have won their last eight Premier League matches in a row since drawing at Everton.

Meanwhile, Wolves have seventh place in the table wrapped up but will be keen to end the season on a high with the world watching on. It is easy to forget, this is their first season back in the top flight such is the job Nuno Espirito Santo has done since taking over just under two years ago.

They arrive in the northwest having won their last three league matches in a row and currently sit on 57 points, nine points adrift on sixth-ranked Manchester United. They will feel they have a genuine chance of breaking into the top six next season.

Away from home, their best result of the campaign was a 3-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur. That was their only away victory against a top-six side.

Betting odds and tips

Liverpool will look to begin this game with the same intensity as they did on Tuesday night and an early goal would set the whole place buzzing. With that in mind, the 16/5 on offer for Liverpool to lead after 15 minutes looks good value.

Mohamed Salah is set to return after a spell out following a head injury and will be keen to end on a high by claiming the Premier League Golden Boot. The Egyptian can be backed at a price of 21/20 to score anytime.

You can back Liverpool to Lead after 15 minutes at 16/5 and Salah to score anytime at 21/20.
