La Liga preview and odds: SD Eibar vs Valencia

December 13, 2015 15:00am - Ipurua Municipal Stadium

La Liga

Gary Neville will take charge of a La Liga game for the first time on Sunday when his Valencia side travels to the Basque Country to take on league minnows SD Eibar.

Eibar winless in three

Eibar and Valencia sit side-by-side in the Spanish top flight table - both on a total of 20 points. Eibar dropped below their opponents last week after losing away to Real Sociedad in the local derby game. Prior to that they were stung 0-2 at home by Real Madrid.

Despite the recent slip, it has been a good start to the season for Coach Mendilibar and his team who have maintained a position in the top half of the table throughout the current campaign. Tough trip north for the Nevilles

Gary Neville will take charge of a game in La Liga for the first time on Sunday with his side in danger of losing touch with the Champions League places. Valencia are already five points behind fourth-ranked Celta de Vigo and are winless in their last three league games. Neville’s tenure in Spain did not get off to the best start as his side crashed out of the Champions League in midweek after falling at home to Lyon.

In their last league outing, Los Che held reigning league champions Barcelona to a 1-1 draw at the Mestalla. Prior to that they were beaten by a single goal away to rivals Sevilla.

Team news

The home side are still without long-term absentee Ander Gayoso Reina, who has been joined in the treatment room by Inigo Barrenetxea and Eddy Pascual.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville will be without the suspended Daniel Parejo as well as the injured trio of Enzo Perez, Rodrigo, and Diego Alves.

Other injury doubts for Los Che included Santi Mina, Zakaria Bakkali, Sofiane Feghouli, Andre Gomes and Pabla Piatti. On a more positive note, Antonio Barragan has returned to full training and could feature.
