Going: Soft (Heavy in places)

Plenty will be hoping last year`s popular winner Tiger Roll can defend his crown, but he faces stiff competition in the shape of Urgent De Gregaine who followed him home is second place a year ago. The 11-year-old enjoys this venue and the conditions will not faze him. It might asking a lot for him to reverse last year`s result, but he should be in contention again. However, he is not convincing enough to back in the winners market and maybe a little short for some on the each-way list.

J P McManus has won this race six times and has 2016 winner Josies Orders running here. The four-time course and distance runner won here in November and enjoyed a two-length victory over three miles in a prep race at Punchestown last month. The best of the each-way picks with double figure prices available.

Auvergnat finished fourth in the last two editions of this race and showed good form at Leopardstown last time out. Now in blinkers, he could improve on his previous finished to snatch a place.

Those looking for an long priced outsider should take a look at Bless The Wings. A veteran of the course, he fell in this race last year, but has returned twice since without incident. It would take everything to fall into place on the day, but at 40/1, plenty will be tempted to wager a small stake in the each-way market.

Here`s a quick look at the past winners, the latest odds and our top tip of the race.
