La Liga preview and odds: Celta de Vigo vs Real Betis

April 16, 2016 22:05pm - Estadio de Balaidos

La Liga

Celta de Vigo will continue their quest for European qualification when they face 13th-ranked Real Betis at Estadio de Balaidos on Saturday.

Celta with outside chance of top four

Celta de Vigo`s most likely route into Europe next season will be via the Europa League qualification positions. However, the Galician side still has an outside chance of reaching the Champions League via a top-four finish. In order to do so, they will have to overcome an eight-point deficit to fourth-ranked Villarreal.

The Celticos have lost just two of their last 10 league games with those defeats coming against Barcelona and Real Madrid. On home soil, they are unbeaten in six, having won three and drawn three.

In their last match, Eduardo Berrizo`s men bagged a 1-0 win away to relegation candidates Sporting de Gijon. Prior to that, they played out a 1-1 draw st home to Deportivo La Coruna in the Galician derby.

One away win in last nine for Real Beits

Real Betis have managed to keep clear of the fight for survival at the bottom of La Liga and now look certain to be lining up in next year`s top-flight roster.

The team from Seville have picked up plenty of points at home in the last few months but have not fared so well on the road. In total, they have won just one of their last nine away matches, having drawn two and lost the other six.

Juan Merino`s men come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win at home to bottom club Levante.

Team news

The home side will be without the services of Marcelo Diaz and Andreu Fontas, who are both injured.

Meawhile, Didier Digard, Juan Vargas and Cristiano Piccini will all be missing for the visitors.

Betting odds and tips

Only Barcelona and Real Madrid have beaten Celta de Vigo since January. Real Betis are unlikely to buck that trend.
