Brighton and Hove Albion vs Everton - Premier League Preview and Odds

December 29, 2018 15:00pm - The American Express Community Stadium

Premier League

A steady first half of the season has put Brighton and Hove Albion well on course for Premier League survival in their second term back in the top flight. They will look to extend their 10-point cushion over the drop zone on Saturday when they host an Everton side who kick off in eighth place following their 5-1 Boxing Day demolition of Burnley.

The Seagulls have lost just twice at home this season (to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur) and have beaten Manchester United, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace in the process. Last time out they held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw, so a clash against the eighth-ranked side will hold no fear for Chris Hughton`s men.

The South Coast team have scored in each of their last 12 home matches, but have only kept two clean sheets in that time.

Meanwhile, Everton`s up and down season was summed up perfectly by their last two results: a 6-2 hammering at home by Spurs and a 5-1 win away to Burnley. Marco Silva`s men have exactly the same point`s tally they had at the same point last season (after 19 games) suggesting little progress has been made since Sam Allardyce`s reign.

The Toffee`s win at Turf Moor was just their second away win of the season and came against a side that has won one, drawn one and lost nine of their last 11 games.

Betting odds and tips

Brighton have not failed to score at home this season and have conceded in seven of the nine games they have played at the Amex. Everton found their scoring touch away to Burnley making this game a standout option in the Both Teams to Score market.

Everton start as favourites, but that seems a little misguided considering Brighton`s strong home form and Everton`s poor record on the road. As a result, the home win offers good value with prices as high as 13/5 available.

In the correct score market, the 12/1 for Brighton to win 2-1 also looks cracking value.

You can Both Teams to Score at 5/6, Brighton to win at 13/5 and a Correct Score of 2-1 at 12/1.
