Fulham vs Manchester City - Premier League Preview and Odds

March 30, 2019 12:30pm - Craven Cottage

Premier League

Manchester City have the next move in the race for the Premier League title and will look to take advantage of their game in hand to leapfrog rivals, Liverpool. Hoping to cause an upset will be hosts Fulham who will keep playing for pride until their relegation is confirmed.

The last team to visit Craven Cottage were Liverpool who held their nerve to take all three points and climb back to the top of the table. City must now respond to keep fate in their own hands.

Pep Guardiola`s men have not played a Premier League match for 20 days. Since winning 3-1 away at Watford, they have beaten Schalke 7-0 at home in the Champions League and knocked Swansea out of the FA Cup thanks to a thrilling 3-2 win in Wales. In their last five league matches, the Citizens have only conceded a single goal.

Hosts Fulham will already be planning for life back in the Championship after a run of seven straight defeats has left them 13 points from safety. New manager Scott Parker has failed to turn around their fortunes and must now try to bring out the best from a doomed squad.

Their last two Premier League home matches have ended in 1-2 defeats to Chelsea and Liverpool. Those results will give them a little hope heading into this game. However, history is not on their side as they have lost their last seven encounters with the Manchester club and have not beaten them for nearly 10 years.

Betting odds and tips

City have an excellent record at Craven Cottage, their last defeat coming back in 2005. With the title race entering the final stages, the only thing that could scupper them this weekend is nerves, but as reigning champions, they know what it takes to get over the line.

There are not too many betting options to get excited about in this match, but Fulham restricted both Chelsea and Liverpool to 2-1 wins here and are priced at 11/1 to achieve the same result again. That could be worth a small wager.

You can back Manchester City to win at 2/1 at 11/1.
