Premier League preview and odds: Norwich vs Tottenham

February 2, 2016 19:45pm - Carrow Road

Premier League

Norwich will be looking to put the memory of last week`s 5-4 defeat to Liverpool out of their minds, when they welcome title-contenders Tottenham Hotspur to Carrow Road in the Barclays Premier League on Tuesday.

Canaries stunned by cruel defeat

For the neutral, last week`s game between Norwich and Liverpool was one of the most entertaining encounters in Premier League history, but for the hosts it was a game to forget.

Having led the game 3-1, the Canaries were hauled back by Liverpool who took a 4-3 lead late on. The home side then scored an equaliser deep into stoppage time, and it looked as if the points would be shared. However, Alex Neil`s men were left stunned when Adam Lallana scored just a minute later to ensure that the visitors left with all three points.

It was the third straight defeat for the Norfolk club who now sit in 17th place just two points above the drop zone.

Spurs now title contenders

While the teams at the top of the table have been busy swapping places and struggling to take the initiative in the title race, Spurs have been steadily going about their business. As a result, the Londoners have crept into the top four and are now just five points adrift of first-ranked Leicester City.

In their last game, they came away with all three points after winning away at Crystal Palace. They will now go in search of their fourth away win in five games when they make the short journey north to face Norwich.

Team news

The home side will have to cope without the suspended Gary O`Neill, while Alexander Tettey is a slight doubt.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be without Jan Vertonghen, Ryan Mason and Clinto N`Jie.
