Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League Preview and Odds

April 1st 2018 16:00 – Stamford Bridge

Premier League

Chelsea will host Tottenham in Sunday`s all-London derby with Champions League places still up for grabs.

It hasn`t been a classic title defence for Antonio Conte`s men and they now face the prospect of missing out on Champions League qualification. Currently in fifth place they could take a huge step towards the top four with a win on Sunday. However, they will need to improve on their recent form which has produced just two wins in their last six league games.

Last time out, they fought hard to earn a 2-1 extra-time win over Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-finals and will be hoping to carry some of that momentum into this game. With no European football to distract them, the Blues will be fully focused on finishing as high up the table as possible, although they will have half an eye on the FA Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur have not any of their last 27 league games at Stamford Bridge, a run that stretches back 29 years. It remains the longest winless run of any team at an away ground in the Premier League. If they are to break that record, they will have to do so without star man Harry Kane who is out of action with an ankle injury. The Londoners have only won 39% on their matches without Kane, compared to 59% with him.

Spurs are also out of Europe but have an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to. A win on Sunday would leave them eight points clear of their rivals and put them in a strong position in the race for Champions League places. However, defeat could bring real pressure as Chelsea would move to within two points of Pochettino’s men.
