Norwich City vs Arsenal - Premier League Preview and Odds

December 01, 2019 14:00pm - Carrow Road (Norwich City)

Premier League

Arsenal face Norwich City on Sunday afternoon with Freddie Ljungberg taking charge on a temporary basis following the sacking of Unai Emery earlier this week.

Norwich City made everyone take notice when they defeated reigning champions Manchester City back in September but they have failed to live up to those heights since. As a result, they remain rooted in the drop zone with 13 games played.

Last time out, they picked up their first win in seven games when they defeated Everton without conceding at Goodison Park. They will hope to use that result as a springboard heading into the busy December schedule.

Meanwhile, Arsenal arrive winless in seven games in all competitions and with just two wins from their last 11 Premier League matches. That run of results cost Emery his job leaving Freddie Ljungberg to takes the reins while the hunt for a successor continues.

The midweek Europa League defeat at home to Eintracht Frankfurt proved to be the final straw for Emery who had previously reached four finals and enjoyed three triumphs in the competition.

Ljungberg will be keen to prove his own credentials for the job by getting off to a winning start. They have only won once on the road in the current Premier League campaign and that win came back in August. So this will be a great opportunity to reverse that trend with immediate effect.

The North Londoners have an impressive squad on paper but finding a formula to get the best out of them proved elusive for the Spaniard during his 18 months in charge. The Swede will hope to see a strong performance and a show of unity from the XI he selects on Sunday. With games against Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United to come, he will hope to give him employers something to think about.

Betting odds and tips

Norwich put in their best display in weeks against Everton and will look to carry that confidence into this game. Meanwhile, the visitors will be hoping for a bounce under their interim boss. Neither side has been convincing on a consistent basis in recent weeks so the draw looks like the most attractive option with prices of 10/3 available.

You can back the Draw at 10/3.
