AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester United - Premier League Preview and Odds

November 03, 2018 12:30pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

Bournemouth will look to open a six point gap over Manchester United when the two sides meet at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday lunchtime. The South Coast side have defied all expectations by winning six and drawing two of their opening 10 games. That run has kept them within a point of Arsenal and just six points off league leaders Manchester City.

Last time out, they strolled to an impressive 3-0 win away to big spending newcomers Fulham and will look to make it four wins from five by overcoming the 20-time league champions. Their last defeat came via a 4-0 drubbing away to Burnley back in September. Since then, they have remained unbeaten and have only conceded one goal. A win on Saturday would mark Eddie Howe`s men as serious contenders for a European place.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are still languishing in eighth position after an underwhelming start to the campaign. Just two wins form their last eight matches in all competitions have left fans scratching their heads after three years of big spending under Jose Mourinho.

They are out of the League Cup and face a struggle to get back into contention for a Champions League place with the top six all in great form. Lacking in goals while conceding regularly at the other end has given them the look of a mid-table team and there have been few signs of recovery.

Having won just two away games in the league, they face a difficult challenge against a side yet to be beaten at home. A defeat would pile more pressure on the Portuguese boss who was recently linked with a return to Real Madrid.

Betting odds and tips

Bournemouth`s attacking style of play has produced some above average goal counts with seven of their 10 league games producing three goals or more this term. Eight of United`s games have followed the same pattern so the Over 2.5 Goals bet stands out here.

You can back Over 2.5 Goals at 8/11.
