Arsenal vs Liverpool - Premier League Preview and Odds

November 03, 2018 17:30pm - Emirates Stadium

Premier League

Arsenal`s transition into the post-Wenger era is going as smooth as can be expected under new boss Unai Emery. Despite being slow out of the blocks as the team adopted a new philosophy under the Spaniard, the Gunners are now unbeaten in 13 competitive games having won 12 and drawn one.

What’s more they are still in touch with the title race having moved into fourth spot behind Manchester City. Liverpool and Chelsea. A Premier League crown might not be achievable but Arsenal fans will be excited by what they have seen so far.

The main issue for the Londoners under their new system is the number of goals they have been conceding. They have already shipped 13, that’s 10 more than Manchester City and nine more than this weekend’s opponents Liverpool. However, only Manchester City have scored more than their total of 24 goals.

They will need that strong attacking bias to be at full effect when Jurgen Klopp’s men visit. And they will need their defence to up their game as Liverpool bring their own offensive threat.

The Reds are a on a roll of their own having remained unbeaten at the start of the campaign despite having already faced Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. They are currently in second place in the table level on points with Pep Guardiola’s pace setters but with an inferior goal difference.

A win against Arsenal would give the Anfield side a massive confidence boost heading into the winter months. They arrive here on the back of a 4-1 thrashing of relegation candidates Cardiff City. They have won four of their five away games, the 1-1 draw at Chelsea their only dropped points.
