Spain are guaranteed at least one representative in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League. Will it be 2012 finalists Athletic Club or reigning champions Sevilla.
Athletic Club eyeing third final appearance
Athletic Club have featured in 2 UEFA Cup finals but have yet to lift the trophy. In 1977, they were beaten on away goals (2-2) in a two-legged finals against Giovanni Trapattoni`s Juventus, and in 2012, they were left empty-handed again after falling 3-0 to fellow Spaniards Atletico Madrid.
The Basque Country side are unbeaten in seven European home matches this term, having won five and drawn two. Veteran striker Aritz Aduriz is the tournaments leading goal scoring with a total of eight.
Sevilla still on course for hat-trick of wins
Sevilla are aiming for the third Europa league title in a row and their fifth overall. However, they have yet to win an away game in Europe or La Liga this season.
Unai Emery`s men began their European campaign in the Champions League but failed to make it out of the group stage. As a result they dropped in to the second-tier tournament that they have dominated over the last two years.
The last team to win three-straight European trophies was Bayern Munich who lifted the European Cup in consecutive years between 1974 and 1976.
Team news
Ernesto Valverde`s men will be without the injured group of Sabin, Laporte, Iker Muniain and Ibai.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Nicolás Pareja, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Daniel Carrico and Marco Andreolli.
