Premier League preview and odds: West Ham United vs Arsenal

April 09, 2016 12:45pm - Boleyn Ground

Premier League

West Ham United are still right in the hunt for the European qualification places, while opponents Arsenal still have a mathematic chance of claiming the Premier League title. But who will come out on top when the teams go head-to-head at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday?

West Ham unbeaten in six

West Ham United have not been beaten in their last six Premier League matches - however, back-to-back draws in their last two games has seen them drop to sixth place in the table behind Manchester United.

The Hammers are still only three points behind fourth place but would have been disappointed to have only picked up a point against struggling Crystal Palace last time out. That 2-2 draw was their second stalemate in succession after previously drawing away to Chelsea (also 2-2).

On home soil, Slaven Bilic`s men have not been beaten since the opening day of the season when they fell 3-4 to AFC Bournemouth.

Arsenal clinging to feint title hopes

Arsenal can still win the Barclays Premier League but they will need to overhaul an 11-point gap to leaders Leicester City if they are to achieve that feat. The Gunners do have a game in hand but with just seven games left to play, it looks increasingly unlikely that they will catch the pace-setters.

The North Londoners come into this game on the back of consecutive wins away to Everton (0-2) and at home to Watford (4-0). Away from home, they have won just two of their last seven league matches, having drawn three and lost the other two.

Team news

The home side are still without the injured Carl Jenkinson.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger will continue without the services of Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
