A field of 11 maidens will line up for the Betway EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes on Thursday. The draw could be all important in the race and for that reason the highly-promising Full Intention (drawn 12) may have to be crossed off the short-list. Also out wide is Havelock who like Full Intention will also be giving 5lbs to his rivals.

Four Dragons is a stable mate of Full intention and will start from a central position. The Tom Dascombe-trained filly showed good form when riding to second place in a Novice race at Ripon just three weeks ago.

Of the rest, Redrosezorro has bagged the inside draw and might just be worth a small stake at a big price. Meanwhile, Mehmas has the breeding and connections to suggest he could be a contender, especially with a certain Mr Dettori on board.

Betting odds and tips

Out of a competitive field, Four Dragons just gets the nod. Tom Dascombe is a master at Chester and of his two entries, the young filly has the right form and a decent draw. However, a small each-way stake on Redrosezorro should also be considered.
