Chester Festival Tips: Betway Huxley Stakes

Betway Huxley Stakes (Group 3) (For The Tradesman`s Cup)

March 05, 2016 14:40pm - Chester

(4yo+, 1m 2f 75y, Class 1)

Chester - Boodles May Festival

Western Hymn will probably head the betting as favourite when the second race of the day gets underway at 14:40pm. Trainer John Gosden is in good form and having Frankie Dettori on board will boost his rating amongst race fans. However, he did not ride quite as expected at Sandown last time out and will have to up his game on Thursday.

With question marks surrounding Western Hymn, Cannock Chase may be a preferable option. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained five-year-old was hampered by the soft ground when finishing second here last year but with firmer conditions this time round, he has a big chance.

Betting odds and tips

Western Hymn will attract the money and could start as short as Evens. However, Cannock Chase seems like a more reliable choice and also represents much better value.

You can back Cannock Chase at 4/1 with Bet365.

Remember, Bet365 are offering guaranteed best odds on all Chester races and a 100% deposit bonus up to £200 for new accounts.
