Hull City vs Sunderland - Premier League preview and odds

May 06, 2017 15:00pm - KCOM Stadium

Premier League

Hull City will look to extend their unbeaten home record to nine games when they welcome already-relegated Sunderland to the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Hull City still not safe despite upturn in fortunes

With just two points separating them from the drop zone and with three games a left to play, Hull City will not be taking anything for granted. Having hauled his side out of the mire, Marco Silva will now be looking to take a step closer to survival by beating the worst team in the league.

The Tigers` revival has been mostly played out on home soil, where they have won six and drawn two of their last eight. Overall, they have lost just one fo their last 12 at the KCOM Stadium, with that defeat coming against Manchester City.

One slight concern for the Yorkshire side will be their goal difference which is the second worst in the league behind Sunderland. With Swansea City their most likely rivals for survival, Silva`s men will be keen to overhaul the two-goal advantage that the Welsh side currently enjoys.

Meanwhile, Sunderland have already slipped out of the Premier League with three games left to play. David Moyes` men never looked capable of maintaining their top-flight status this term despite fielding a 14-goal striker (Jermain Defoe) amongst their ranks.

The Black Cats have failed to score in their last four away games and have only scored two goals in their last 10 games overall. The come into this game on the back of a 0-1 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth.

Betting odds and tips

Hull City have only kept two clean sheets at home all season, although one of those did come in their last game against Watford. However, they have scored in each of their last eight home games. This weekend, they will be looking to extend their winning streak at the KCOM to five games.

Sunderland have failed to win any their last 10 matches and have conceded at least one goal in all but one of their away games. What`s more, they have failed to score in each of their last four away matches.
