Swansea City vs Everton - Premier League preview and odds

May 06, 2017 17:30pm - Liberty Stadium

Premier League

Swansea City will continue their quest for Premier League survival when they welcome seventh-ranked Everton to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening. The visitors themselves still have an outside chance of breaking into the top six.

Win would breathe life into Swans` survival bid

A tally of four points from their last two games has kept Swansea City`s survival hopes alive heading into the last three games of the season. The Swans have won just one of their last eight matches in the league but five of those were played away from home. At the Liberty Stadium, their record makes much better reading with four wins, one draw and one defeat from those last six matches.

Paul Clement`s men will need to overhaul a two-point deficit to in-form Hull City if they are to remain in the top flight for another season. And with the Tigers facing already-relegated Sunderland this weekend, a win here could be vital for the Welsh club.

Meanwhile, Everton look to be on course for a seventh place finish but still have an outside chance of sneaking into the top six. The Toffees have won just two of their last 15 matches on the road and none of their last six, with five of their last eight road trips ending in draws.

Ronald Koeman expressed his desire to coach former club Barcelona this week, prompting questions about his commitment to the club from certain section of the Goodison Park support. However, if he is to bag such a role, he will be keen to showcase his ability by making a success of his time on Merseyside.

Whatever the future holds for the Dutch boss, his side can maintain the pressure on sixth-placed Arsenal with a win this weekend.

Betting odds and tips

Two-thirds of Swansea City`s matches have produced 2.5 goals in total this season so that market might be worth looking at. However, Everton may boast the league`s top scorer in Romelu Lukaku but the Belgian has bagged just one goal in their last eight away matches. During that same spell, the Toffees have managed just one win. As a result, the home side should have a great chance of picking up a point this weekend.
