Real Sociedad could throw the title race wide open with victory over league leaders Barcelona on Saturday.

La Real buoyed by big win at Sevilla

After a winless run of four games, Real Sociedad bounced back with a 2-1 win at Sevilla and broke the Andalucian`s run of 13 straight home wins in the league in the process.

With that win, the Basque Country side rose to 10th in the table, 10 points clear of the relegation zone and 10 points adrift of European qualification. A win against the league leaders could lift them into the top eight depending on other results.

La Real have lost just two of their last 10 home matches, having won five and drawn the other three.

Barca rocked by Ronaldo in El Clasico

A late goal from Cristiano Ronaldo in El Clasico ended Barcelona`s run of 39 games unbeaten in all competitions. Despite that defeat, the reigning champions still hold a six-point lead over their closest rivals in the league table.

Away from home, they are still unbeaten in the last 19 games in all competitions, and in the last 11 in the league. They come into this game on the back of a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Team news

Markel Bergara is suspended for the home side, while Ruben Pardo, Oier, Joseba Zaldua, Eneko Capilla, Agirretxe and Sergio Canales all have injury issues.

Luis Suarez will be suspended for the visitors, while Aleix Vidal, Adriano, Jeremy Mathieu and Sandro Ramirez are all suffering from various ailments.
