Chester Festival Tips: TCC 10th Birthday Apprentice Handicap

March 06, 2016 17:20pm - Chester

(4yo+, 1m 4f 66y, Class 4, 11 runners)

Chester - Boodles May Festival

Graceland was twice a winner over 12f last year and started this season well with a respectable second place in the YMCA President, Lady Ruggles-Brise`s Handicap at Cheltenham. She has a good draw and is definitely one for the short-list.

Indira looked good when cruising home at Bath on Monday but a big weight penalty and a wide draw could rule her out.

Gabrial The Duke has shown great form in the past but his best rides have been over slightly longer distances. Has shown good form on the all-weather tracks and is running out of a good draw here. Stands a chance but there are more eye-catching picks.

Trendsetter won on this course last year but has not had a run since November. Meanwhile, Whoopsy Daisy looks interesting, having put in consistently good performances over the last year. However, she has little experience over this distance and is starting from stall No. 10.

Betting odds and tips

In as field of strong contenders, Graceland just gets the nod thanks to a good return form and a favourable draw.

Graceland can be backed at 3/1 with Bet365.
