Liverpool vs AFC Bournemouth - Premier League Preview and Odds

March 07, 2020 12:30pm - Anfield Stadium (Liverpool)

Premier League

Liverpool will look to bounce back after losing their first Premier League match in over a year at Watford last week. Meanwhile, visitors AFC Bournemouth continue their quest for top-flight survival after a run of two defeats and a draw left them in the danger zone.

It has been a tough few weeks for Liverpool who lost three out of four games including their first of the season in the Premier League. But no one is feeling too sorry for the Reds who still have a 22-point gap at the top of the table and are on course for their first title in 30 years.

After such a long wait for a league crown, Klopp`s men could be excused for not being fully focused on other domestic prizes. And that was certainly the case last week when they crashed out of the FA Cup away to Chelsea after a fielding an understrength team.

The Anfield club need just four more wins in the league and will hope to still be involved in the Champions League by the time that is wrapped up. They`ll need to overcome a 1-0 deficit to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday to keep their European title defence alive.

Goalkeeper Alisson has been ruled out which will be a massive blow for the home side. However, James Milner could return after a spell out injured.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth are fighting for their lives at the other end of the table and could escape the bottom three with a point. With just four points separating the teams from 15th to18th, the South Coast club are by no means down and out.

Eddie Howe`s men enjoyed a mini-revival in January, winning back-to-back home games against relegation rivals Brighton and Aston Villa but they picked up just one point from their next three to fall back into danger. However, that one point came in an impressive 2-2 home draw against Chelsea.

Predicted line-ups:

Liverpool: Adrian Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Wijnaldum Salah, Firmino, Mane

Bournemouth: Ramsdale Stacey, S Cook, Ake, Smith Billing, Lerma, L Cook Fraser, C Wilson, King

Recent Form (League)

Liverpool: LWWWW

AFC Bournemouth: WDLLWW

Betting odds and tips

Liverpool`s shield of invincibility finally fell last week and Klopp will be keen for a backlash from his men. As the Reds edge closer to the title, the atmosphere should be electric if not a little tense but expect a return to winning ways for the home side. However, without Alisson in the team, the visitors will fancy their chances of getting on the score sheet.

You can back the Home Win and Both Teams to Score at 13/10.
