FA Cup preview and odds: West Ham vs Liverpool

February 09, 2015 20:00pm - Boleyn Ground

FA Cup Fourth Round Replay

After playing out a 0-0 draw at Anfield in the first match of this FA Cup fourth round tie, West Ham and Liverpool will meet again on Tuesday night to decide who will go on to face Blackburn Rovers in the next round.

Hammers with home advantage

After matching Liverpool in their own back yard, West Ham will now be looking to get the job done on their own turf as they seek passage to the next round of the FA Cup.

The Hammers struggled to break down a much-changed Liverpool side in the first match, but will be buoyed by the fact that they beat the Reds 2-0 in East London when the two sides met in the Premier League a few weeks ago.

They come into this game on the back of a 1-0 league defeat away to Southampton. Slaven Bilic was left frustrated as his team failed to break down an opposition side that was reduced to 10 men in the second half, following the dismissal of Victor Wanyama.

Fixture pile-up continues for Reds

Liverpool have played more minutes than any other Premier League side this season, and are still involved in all four levels of competition. Despite making good progress in the cups, the Reds have been out of sorts at Premier League level, having won just one of their last six outings.

On Saturday, the Reds had to settle for a draw at home after letting a two-goal lead slip against Sunderland. The game featured a mass walk out on 77 minutes as Liverpool fans - unhappy with the club`s new ticket pricing proposals for next season - made their feelings clear to the club`s hierachy.

Team news

West Ham will be without the cup-tied Sam Byram, while James Tomkins could also miss out after picking up a knock against Southampton.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could be without Dejan Lovren and Joe Allen who were both injured at the weekend. However, Daniel Sturridge may play some part after appearing on the bench on Saturday.

Betting odds and tips

Liverpool have already made it to one cup final this season and seem to have a knack of finding a way through. However, the Reds always seem to do it the hard way and could once again find themselves playing extra minutes on Tuesday.
