Premier League preview and odds: AFC Bournemouth vs Stoke City

February 13, 2016 15:00pm - The Vitality Stadium

Premier League

Bournemouth will be aiming to distance themselves from the Premier League relegation battle on Saturday by overturning a Stoke side that has suffered a recent slump in form.

Bournemouth keen to maintain cushion

Bournemouth`s ambitions of becoming an established Premier League side look to be on track but there is still plenty of work to be done for Eddie Howe and his men. They are currently sat in 15th place and enjoy a five-point cushion over Norwich who occupy the first relegation spot.

The Cherries suffered a blow last weekend when they were beaten 0-2 at home to Arsenal, but they will be hoping to bounce back by grabbing their fourth home win of the season against out-of-form Stoke. The defeat to Arsenal was just their third loss in the last 12 games.

Stoke out to avoid fourth straight defeat

Stoke City have been beaten 3-0 in their last three Premier League matches and as a result, they have slipped back down into the bottom half of the table. In addition, they have failed to score in any of their last four games.

The Potters come into this game on the back of a home defeat to Everton and prior to that, they were beaten twice on the road at Leicester City and Manchester United. Away from home, Mark Hughes` men have also lost three in a row, with their late victory coming at Everton back in December.

Team news

The home side will be without Max Gradel, Callum Wilson and Tyrone Mings, while Tommy Elphick remains a doubt.

The visitors are hoping to welcome back Geoff Cameron but Ryan Shawcross, Charlie Adam and Marc Wilson will all miss out.
