Premier League preview and odds: Norwich City vs West Ham United

February 13, 2016 15:00pm - Carrow Road

Premier League

Norwich will try to put the brakes on their alarming slide down the Premier League table when they welcome European hopefuls West Ham United to Carrow Road on Saturday.

Bad form has come at wrong time for Norwich

A run of five straight defeats with 16 goals conceded has left Norwich languishing in the drop zone with just over a dozen games left to play in the Premier League. Alex Neil`s men have the worst form of any team in the division and will be desperate to halt their decline before it gets too late.

Currently sat in 18th place just one point behind Newcastle, a win this weekend would give the Canaries a massive boost and could even lift them into a position of safety.

They come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of bottom club Aston Villa, and prior to that they were defeated 3-0 on home soil by Spurs.

Hammers in Euro hunt

West Ham United will be hoping to keep their European ambitions on track by taking advantage of a struggling Norwich side this weekend. The Hammers are just two points behind fifth-ranked Manchester United who occupy the first European qualification position.

Last time out, Slaven Bilic`s men missed the chance to move into fifth place when they fell 1-0 away to Southampton. In their previous match, they eased past bottom club Aston Villa by two goals to nil.

Team news

The home side will be without the suspended Alexander Tettey, while Graham Dorrans is out injured.

Meanwhile, the visitors are still without the injured duo of Carl Jenkinson and Manuel Lanzini.

West Ham United: LWDLW

Betting odds and tips

West Ham have one just one of their last eight on the road, having lost four and drawn the other three. Norwich have lost their last two at home but were unbeaten in their previous five with a W3 D2 record. This is a tough one to call but the Hammers are in better form than their opponents and will expect to take something from the game.
