Chelsea will look to maintain a comfortable cushion over the chasing pack when they welcome ninth-ranked Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.

Frank Lampard`s men are currently sat in fourth place, six points clear of Arsenal having won their last five Premier League matches in a row. Only leaders Liverpool have defeated them on home soil this term although Leicester City and Sheffield United both came away with a point.

A top-four finish remains the priority for the London club so they will be keen to maintain or increase the gap to the clubs below them by grabbing all three points against Palace. Encouragingly, their last two home games in the league also produced their first two clean sheets of the campaign.

Crystal Palace have had a decent start to the season winning four and drawing three of their first 11 games to put them in the top half of the table. However, they arrive here winless in three following a pair of home defeats to Manchester City and Leicester City either side of a 2-2 draw at Arsenal.

Roy Hodgson`s men have won twice on the road this term, at Manchester United and West Ham United, and have won nine of their last 15 away matches overall, so they will not be fazed by the challenge facing them. They have only failed to score in three of their last 17 away matches in the Premier League.

Betting odds and tips

This season, 60% of Chelsea`s home games and 60% of Palace`s away games have resulted in both teams scoring, so that bet could come into play on Saturday. The Blue`s only clean sheets came in their last two home games but Palace have scored twice on each of their last two road trips.

Chelsea are the form team here but Palace`s strong away record should not be dismissed. As a result, expect the Eagles to at least get on the scoresheet with the home side just edging the win.
