Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool - Premier League Preview and Odds

January 11, 2020 17:30pm - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London)

Premier League

Unbeaten Liverpool will continue their quest for a first Premier League title in 30 years when they pay a visit to North London to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

The Reds are 13 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand and seem to be in an unassailable position but after such a long wait and a few recent near misses, Klopp`s men are not getting carried away just yet.

The Anfield club are unbeaten in their last 17 away games in the league and have won 12 of their last 13, their only slip-up, a draw at Old Trafford. Their last two away games produced seven goals without reply.

As well as gunning for the title, Liverpool are also on course to remain invincible, a feat not achieved since Arsenal won the title in 2003/04.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are still trying to salvage something from a season that led to the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino just months after he led the side to the Champions League final where they were defeated by Saturday`s opponents.

Since Jose Mourinho was appointed in November, the North London side have won six, drawn two and lost four of their 12 games. They have won just one of their last four Premier League matches and were beaten 1-0 by Southampton last time out. Prior to that, they were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom-of-the-table Norwich City.

On home soil, Spurs have only been beaten twice all season. The first defeat came against Newcastle (0-1) back in August and the second against Chelsea (0-2) in December. The game against Chelsea was the only other time they have faced a top-six side at home this season.

Betting odds and tips

Liverpool`s ridiculous record continues and it is tempting to think it must come to an end soon and back against them. But Klopp`s men just keep getting results and when they are in top form, no one in the league currently comes close to them, including reigning champions Manchester City.

As a result, an away win seems inevitable. And with Harry out injured, Liverpool could be on course for a sixth-straight clean sheet.
