Premier League preview and odds: Norwich vs Everton

December 12, 2015 12:45pm - Carrow Road

Premier League

Relegations candidates Norwich have won just one of their last ten Premier League matches and must now face an Everton side that are unbeaten in five, in the early kick-off at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Tough times for Norwich

After 15 rounds of Premier League football, only goal difference is keeping Norwich out of the relegation places. And with Bournemouth, Newcastle and Sunderland all showing glimpses of form, it promises to be tough festive period for Alex Neil and his men.

They come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to promoted side Watford and are now winless in three games. The Canaries only win in the last ten games came against struggling Swansea, and during that period only Aston Villa have picked up less points than the Norfolk club.

Everton unbeaten in five

Everton missed the chance to overtake their Merseyside neighbours and close the gap on the top four in the process, when they drew at home to Crystal Palace on Monday night. The stalemate extended their unbeaten run to five games although they have only won two of those matches.

Away from home, the Toffees have just one defeat to their name - a 2-1 reverse at the hand of Arsenal back in October. Aside from that game, they have drawn four and won two on the road. Their solitary goal on Monday was once again provided by Romelu Lukaku, who now has a total of 11 league goals to his name.

Team news

The home side will be without the services of Wes Hoolahan and Matt Jarvis. Meanwhile, Bryan Oviedo and James McCarthy are both doubful for Everton, while Phil Jagielka and Tony Hibbert will definitely miss out.

Norwich are desperate for a win but are facing a side that have only lost once on the road all season. Romelu Lukaku has scored six of his 11 goals on the road this term and can be backed at 11/8 to score anytime with Bet365.
