Italy extended their unbeaten run to nine matches with a friendly 3-0 win over South American visitors Uruguay this week. Just a week before, they enjoyed some shooting practice in an 8-0 win over the minnows of San Marino. Following such preparations, they will be full of confidence heading into their next World Cup qualifier against group outsiders Liechtenstein.

A similar goal tally to the one achieved against San Marino should be expected as they Italians continue to impress under the guidance of Giampiero Ventura. They come into this game unbeaten in nine, having won seven and drawn twice, against Spain and Germany.

At the moment, only goal difference is keeping them in second place behind leaders Spain. And it is those two who are expected to battle it out for supremacy in Group G. As a result, a high goal count here could certainly work in their favour come the end of the campaign.

Liechtenstein will not be expecting to take anything from this game, having failed to win any of their last 16 matches. However, they will have a slight spring in their step having earned a draw away to Finland on Wednesday night. They have already been beaten 4-0 at home by this weekend`s opponents while group leaders Spain put eight past them on the opening day of the campaign.
