Premier League preview and odds: Leicester City vs Chelsea

December 14, 2015 20:00pm - King Power Stadium

Premier League

Leicester City Coach Claudio Ranieri will come up against his old club on Monday night when his table-toppers face a floundering Chelsea side at the King Power stadium in the Barclays Premier League.

Ranieri looking to out-fox Mourinho

With five wins in their last six games, Leicester City have shot to the top of the Premier League table and proved that they are the real deal. While everyone expected the Foxes to fall away, they have actually improved, having picked up their first three clean sheets in the last six games.

Last time out, the league leaders strolled to a 3-0 victory away to Swansea and prior to that, they held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium. Their only defeat of the season remains the 2-5 home loss to Arsenal back in September - a game which many predicted would initiate their decline.

One win in six for Blues

Chelsea have picked up just one win in their last six Premier League matches and are still just two points above the relegation places. While everyone keeps insisting that they are too good to go down, the poor results just keep coming and over the last six games, Newcastle, Sunderland and Bournemouth have all picked up more points than the Blues.

Jose Mourinho’s men come into this game on the back of a home defeat to fellow strugglers Bournemouth. That result leaves the London side four points adrift of the team above them in the league and 17 points behind Leicester City.

Team news

Leicester City have Ritchie de Laet and Matt James in the treatment room. Meanwhile, Chelsea will have to manage without Radamel Falcao.

Betting odds and tips

The bookmakers have made Chelsea the favourites for this one but it hard to see why when comparing the form of both teams. As a result, the home side can be backed at a decent price of 2/1 with Ladbrokes.
