Premier League preview and odds: Liverpool vs West Brom

December 13, 2015 16:00pm - Anfield

Premier League

After being stunned by Newcastle last week, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be looking for a response when his team goes head-to-head with 13th-ranked West Brom at Anfield on Sunday.

Response required from Reds

Liverpool continue to frustrate and delight in equal measures with their unpredictable displays. They have won just two of their last six home games but will hoping to change that statistic against a West Brom side that has one just one of their last five matches away from home.

The Anfield side wrapped up their Europa League group stage campaign with a limp 0-0 draw away to Sion on Thursday night. Kop boss Klopp will be hoping that his side can return to the kind of form they showed in recent wins over Man City and Chelsea.

Last time out the Reds never really got going as they fell 2-0 away to Newcastle. However, with the score still at 1-0, they had a perfectly good goal ruled out when Alberto Moreno was incorrectly ajudged to be offside.

Baggies unbeaten in three

West Brom have hardly set the world on fire this season but they are going steady in the league and have kept well clear of the relegation places. They have won just one of their last five Premier League matches but that win did come against second-ranked Arsenal.

They come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham, prior to that they achieved the same scoreline away to West Ham. They have only scored four goals away from home all season.

Team news

Liverpool will once again be without Daniel Sturridge after the striker picked up another minor hamstring injury in training. Jordan Ibe is a doubt after suffering from illness, while Mamadou Sakho is still a couple of weeks away from fitness.

Meanwhile, the Baggies will be without Stephane Sessegnon for the trip to Anfield.

Betting odds and tips

West Brom have struggled for goals away from home but Liverpool`s home scoring record has not been great either. All of the Baggies away games have finished with under 2.5 goals this season and four out of seven of Liverpool`s home games have also produced this result. Under 2.5 goals can be backed at 4/5 with Bet365.
