AFC Bournemouth vs Burnley - Premier League preview and odds

May 13, 2017 15:00pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

With a possible eighth-place up for grabs, AFC Bournemouth won`t have packed their suitcases just yet. The South Coast side will be keen to reinforce their top 10 credentials when they welcome successful Premier League newcomers Burnley to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Pride at stake in mid-table battle

Bournemouth may have flirted with the relegation place this season but they have always remained in contention for a top 10 finish and a win on Saturday could lift them into that category. Eddie HowesÂ’ men have drifted in and out of form but have ended the season well with just two defeats in their last 10 matches, both coming against the current top two.

On home soil, they have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five, their last outing at the Vitality a 2-2 drawn against Stoke City. If they win their last two matches, they could conceivably finish eighth although there are at least five other teams fighting for that position.

Meanwhile, Burnley could leapfrog their host in the table if they can record what would be only their second away win of the season. Their only other victory on the road came just two weeks ago at Crystal Palace. They followed that up with a 2-2 draw at home to West Bromwich Albion.

Betting odds and tips

Sevan of Bournemouth`s last 10 home games have produced more than 2.5 Goals and five of Burnley`s last nine on the road have also paid out in this market. With the threat of relegation removed both sides should be able to play with a bit more freedom and both can be expected to get on the score sheet.
