Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs Watford

April 16 , 2016 15:00pm - The Hawthorns

Premier League

Two sides with little left to play for in the Premier League will go head-to-head on Saturday as 13th-ranked West Bromwich Albion welcome 15th-ranked Watford to the Hawthorns.

West Brom safe again

With 40 points already in the bag, West Bromwich will almost certainly be lining up for next year`s Premier League campaign. The Baggies have never really looked in danger this season but have struggled to lift themselves away from the lower reaches of the table.

The good news is that Tony Pulis` side have lost just one of their last seven games on home soil, having won four and drawn the other two. That defeat came against Norwich City in their most recent home game.

Watford struggling after strong start to the season

At Christmas, Watford appeared to be cruising towards Premier League survival and a top-ten finish. Since then, a run of 15 games featuring two wins, four draws and nine defeats has seen them plummet into the bottom half of the table.

Although they appear to have done enough to retain their top-flight status for another year, boss Quique Sanchez Flores will be disappointed with the way his team has declined in the second half of the season.

The Hornets lost five of their last six away games without scoring a single goal.

Team news

The home side will be hampered by the absence of Salomon Rondon, Chris Brunt and James Morrison.

Meanwhile, the away side will have to make do without Etienne Capoue.

Betting odds and tips

West Brom have been strong on home soil in recent weeks, with the 1-0 defeat to Norwich being their only blemish in 2016. In stark contrast, Watford have struggled to score goals away from home this year and have lost five of their last six on their travels.
