Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool

May 15 , 2016 15:00pm - Anfield

Premier League

West Bromwich Albion will go looking for their first win in eight games when they welcome Europa League finalists Liverpool to the Hawthorns on Sunday.

A lack of progress for Baggies

A poor run of form over the last two months has left West Bromwich Albion in 15th place in the Premier League table with just one game left to play. They need to beat Liverpool on Sunday to beat last season`s point`s tally of 44 by one point.

The lack of progress this season may be of concern for Baggies fans who were perhaps dreaming of a top half finish just a couple of months back. Tony Pulis` men have lost their last three matches in a row on home soil without scoring a single goal.

Reds in preparation for Euro showdown

Liverpool will play out their last game of the season knowing that a win could offer them another avenue into European qualification should they fail to win next week`s Europa League final.

The Reds will go straight into the Champions League Group stage should they win against Sevilla in Basel but defeat would leave them relying on league position for a Europa League spot.

In their last game, Jurgen Klopp`s men came from a goal behind to draw 1-1 at home to Chelsea. Prior to that they eased to a 2-0 win at home to Watford.

Team news

Chris Brunt is still out of action for the home side, while Alex Pritchard and James Morrison are both doubtful.

Meanwhile, the visitors could rest several key players ahead of Wednesday`s game and will also continue without the services of Danny Ward, Divock Origi, Jordan Henderson, Jordan Rossiter, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez.
