Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City - Premier League Preview and Odds

February 14, 2020 20:00pm - Molineux (Wolverhampton)

Premier League

Wolverhampton Wanderers can take temporary charge of sixth place in the Premier League with a win at home to Leicester City on Friday night. The visitors themselves can go second with a win but will have played one more than Manchester City.

Ninth-ranked Wolves` quest for a place in Europe is still on track but they face stiff competition with just four points separating the teams between fifth and ninth. A run of just one win in the five games since they beat Manchester City has not helped their cause but two of those games were against the runaway league leaders Liverpool.

Nuno EspĂrito Santo`s men earned a draw at eighth-ranked Manchester United last time out but have only won four of their last 12 league matches at home. Their tally of 11 draws is the highest in the league.

Meanwhile, Leicester City have set such high standards for themselves this season that they will be disappointed not to be sat in second place. They have won just three of their last nine Premier League matches but they have won six of their last eight on the road.

With just four away defeats all season, Brendan Rodgers` men will be confident of taking something from this match. They have scored at least one goal in all but one of their away games and scored two or more in six of them.

Predicted line-ups:

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Patricio Saiss, Coady, Boly Doherty, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny Traore, Jimenez, Jota

Leicester City: Schmeichel Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Chilwell Ndidi, Praet, Tielemans Perez, Maddison, Vardy

Recent Form (League)

Wolves: WLDWL

Leicester City: DWLLW

Betting odds and tips

This looks like an even contest but the Foxes have won more away games than Wolves have won home games. They have also scored the second most away goals in the division. With that in mind, the Away Win with Both Teams to Score looks the best option.

You can back the Away Win with Both Teams to Score at 9/2.
