Going: Good to soft

What used to be the final race of the festival has been bumped up the order ahead of the Conditional Jockey`s race. The two-mile handicap is the oldest contest of the current festival line-up having first been run in 1834.

Paul Nicholls bagged his fourth winner 12 months ago with Le Prezien who returns a pound higher and in patchy form. However, he proved last year that he enjoys this course and it would be no surprise to see him in contention again. With prices of around 12/1 on offer, he is one to consider in the each-way market.

Also running for the Nicholls stable is Magic Saint, a progressive youngster who won at Wincanton last time out in only his third UK start. He jumps really well for a five-year-old and that will be key here. Still improving, he could be the one to watch in this race. Already backed into 11/2, prices could shorten further before the off.

Bun Doran likes the course and the ground and comes here fresh which also suits him. Turned heads with an eight-length win here back in November and followed that with a second over course and distance. At 12/1, he is a great each-way propect.
